$A, $AC, $ACCEL, $ACCELERATION

Global commands (equivalent forms):

$AC <Real>
$A <Real>
$ACCEL <Real>
$ACCELERATION <Real>

Section parameters (equivalent forms):

A = <Real> ;
ACCEL = <Real> ;
ACCELERATION = <Real> ;

Value for the rate of acceleration for vehicles in the Movement.

The value is inherited in the section hierarchy if specified in a section command, the top level section (the screen) gets the value from the global timetable commands above.

In the sections it is a text parameter. The value from here is transferred to the Movement unaltered at the time each Movement begins. Therefore, if a range or selection is specified in this parameter, then the decision of the value to be used is decided randomly immediately before the Movement begins unless the Movement itself already has an attached acceleration value in it.

Complex movements can have multiple acceleration parameters (a separate value for each train and movement phase), this value server as default for all of them.
