2 | LYNB | Lynton and Barnstaple Railway | The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway was a 19 mile long 1ft 11.5in gauge line across Exmoor opened in 1898 as an independent company, absorbed by the SR at grouping and sadly closed by that Company in 1935. Its main use was to carry tourists to Lynton and Lynmouth from the Mainline Railway at Barnstaple. It also carried a reasonable quantity of local goods traffic. | GB | TRAFFIC |
